Our bread baskets are beautifully handwoven from natural bamboo — a renewable, eco-friendly material celebrated for its strength, flexibility, and sustainability.

Each round and oval basket is crafted by skilled women artisans from the northeastern state of Tripura, where bamboo weaving has been an integral part of the community’s heritage since the 18th century.

Locally known as Makal, bamboo plays a vital role in the artisans’ lives. Primarily an agricultural community, they turn to bamboo craft during the quieter farming months, creating timeless pieces with exceptional skill and care.

It takes approximately a day and a half to weave each Round Bread Basket — a true labor of love that reflects both tradition and craftsmanship.

Care Instructions:

Line the basket with a soft cloth before placing your bread inside. Clean gently with a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. Store the bamboo basket in a dry place, away from moisture or humidity. Do not wash under running water.
