Before bread machines. Before non-stick. Before plastic.

There was brass.

The Paraat is the wide, hand-hammered brass bowl that has sat at the heart of Indian kitchens for thousands of years — used every morning to knead dough for rotis, parathas, and naan. This is not a trend. This is how families have cooked since before anyone kept records.

Ours is crafted by brass artisans in India. Every mark on the surface is a hammer strike. Every reflection you see in it is proof that no machine touched it.

Available in two sizes:

12 inch — Diameter 30.5 cm · Height 4.6 cm · Weight 580 g
Best for 2–3 people or a small daily batch.

14 inch — Diameter 35.5 cm · Height 5.1 cm · Weight 890 g · Volume 900 ml
Best for families or larger batches.

Why brass makes your bread better

This is the part most people don't know.

Brass is a natural alloy of copper and zinc. When you knead dough directly on a brass surface, trace amounts of these minerals transfer into the flour. Copper supports immune function and iron absorption. Zinc supports metabolism and cell repair. Your grandmother wasn't just following tradition — she was fortifying every meal without knowing the science behind it.

Brass is also naturally antimicrobial. Studies show it eliminates over 99% of bacteria within two hours of contact — something stainless steel and plastic cannot do. No coating. No chemicals. The metal itself does the work.
